The other evening as I was browsing through blog posts,
I meandered over to see what Bonnie K at
Birds, Bees, Berries, and Blooms was up to.
I noticed a quote in her sidebar that caught my eye.
Then I sat and read each one.
I thought she needs a book like mine.
I have this darling little book that a friend made for me.
It's only about 2" X 3.5".
When she gave it to me, I wondered what I would do with it.
An answer appeared within a week
when I read a quote I liked.
I have a punch bowl on our coffee table in the living room.
It has little books in it that I change with the seasons.
I've tried removing the punch bowl and going with something else,
There are a few folks who visit who evidently like the punch bowl.
So in the punch bowl I keep my little quote book.
Every so often when I read a quote that resonates,
Since I'm not allowed to get rid of the punch bowl,
folks will have to fight over it when my time is through.
If you have a favorite quote, let me know.
Evidently, I'm not the only one who likes them.
A side note~ when we were without internet for nearly a month,
I did hop on another computer and looked at the blog.
Only about half - two thirds of the blogs I follow appear on the blog reading list.
I don't know why, if it's something I did or if it's blogger.
So even if you don't see your blog on the list, I may still be a follower.
I don't keep quote book, but I like reading them.
ReplyDeleteI find Mark Twain's quotes very witty. 😊
Another great post. And of course I had to go read all the quotes on Bees, Birds, Berries and Blooms. Thanks for sending me on that journey.
ReplyDeleteI collect quotes too. I write them everywhere. Ha... Here is one for you.
ReplyDeleteIt isn’t that I don’t like sweet disorder, but it has to be judiciously arranged. ~Vita Sackville West

The richness I achieve comes from Nature, the source of my inspiration. ~ Claude Monet
I could go on and on....
Love the little book your friend made. I also like to make books. :)
I think you have to list them. I enter mine manually. I love that quote by Mark Twain!
ReplyDeleteI'm a quote collector too (as my blog will attest!). My mother collected them so I guess I inherited the trait from her. I love your little book (and the punch bowl idea too).
ReplyDeleteI am also a quote collector. I have since my teens. I have a notebook, but now Im going to try your idea, just a book of quotes only. Genius. It's quite interesting that some things don't creatively come to us, and it seems in sane as we are all such creative beings. I wrote one of my favorite quotes on my post yesterday, and I love it so much. It's super long but its by Joseph Campbell and its about having a space for our creative artsy spirits. I also have "I dwell in possibility." Emily Dickinson that is at the end of all of my emails.
ReplyDeleteWe've been so busy with the blizzard, I am just getting caught up on posts. What is crazy is we went to the feed store and I found the most beautiful journal. Now I know exactly what imI going to do with it. Thanks for the great idea!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea. I don't collect quotes but I do collect my thoughts and activities in a journal that I illustrate. Next I want to learn how to do some fancy lettering. - Margy
